Lucy Elliott

Lucy Elliott is the Operations Team Manager in Disability Services at the University of Leeds. She first joined the service in 2014, starting out as an administrator and receptionist, after studying her bachelor’s at Leeds. During this time, she developed a passion for the provision of excellent customer service.

In 2018, Lucy became a Disability Advisor and made recommendations for supporting students’ learning, teaching, and assessments at Leeds.

Since 2021, Lucy has been managing the Operations Team. This is a team of 8 who aim to provide a proactive and informative Front of House service, alongside supporting many key administrative processes. The team respond to a vast array of enquiries by email, phone, and in-person; and offer daily one-to-one drop-in appointments. They provide information and support to enable students to register with Disability Services, apply for Disabled Students’ Allowances, and learn about support available across the University.

The team create and circulate regular communications with disabled students, including through emails, newsletters, social media, and the website. The team also collate and share Disability Services’ data internally and to the wider University.

Lucy loves the variety of her role and that every day is different. She’s particularly been enjoying the facilitating of the Disability Services’ Student Panel. She’s keen to understand the student experience so the Service can continue to refine and develop, and to contribute to wider discussions across the University.
