NADP Awards Scheme
The 2022 Awards
The National Association of Disability Practitioners annually celebrates excellence in the disability and inclusivity sector by issuing three awards each year. We are launching the call for nominations for the 2022 awards in the following three categories.
The panel will consider all nominations submitted by members before midnight on Monday 28th March 2022
The Deb Viney award for an Individual Disability/Inclusivity Practitioner
This award is given in Deb’s name to honour her major contribution to the sector. Deb Viney, who died in 2014, was one of the founders of the National Association of Disability Practitioners (then named the National Association of Disability Officers). She worked tirelessly to promote good practice in the sector and gave invaluable support to many colleagues both nationally and internationally.
The Disability and Inclusivity Award for a Service Team
The National Association of Disability Practitioners wishes to annually recognise one disability or inclusivity team for their contribution to making a positive difference to the experiences of disabled students and/or disabled staff in the post-compulsory education sector, with effect from 2021 onwards.
The aim for this award is that it may be awarded to any disability or inclusivity team, regardless of their size or location.
The Outstanding Achievement Award
Each year the National Association of Disability Practitioners, NADP, recognises one individual in the disability and inclusivity field for their sustained contribution to making a really positive difference to the experiences of disabled students and/or disabled staff in higher or further education.
The Awards Panel discuss and consider examples of sustained excellent practice and work that we are aware of, throughout the sector, and compile an initial list of nominees, which then gets passed to the wider NADP Board for voting.
We are mainly looking at three areas.
- Someone in the sector who has made a major and sustained contribution to the advancement of professionalism in higher or further education services for disabled students or staff, in their institution and beyond, throughout their career
- Someone in the sector who has contributed to the disability sector in ways that may well extend above and beyond their duties and responsibilities in their day to day role
- Someone in the sector who has made an outstanding contribution to raising the profile of the National Association of Disability Practitioners.
