Role Description for Members of the NADP Board of Directors
- A Board member is elected for a term of three years and may be re-elected for 3 terms (or more at the discretion of the Chair).
- Regularly attends Board meetings (3 days per year: September, November and February).
- Prepares well for meetings and comments on minutes and reports.
- Gets to know other Board members and builds a working relationship
- Participates in the two-day annual strategic planning event in April.
- Makes a serious commitment to participate actively in the work of at least one sub-group of the Board.
- Volunteers for, and willingly accepts, assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
- Stays informed about disability sector matters.
- Is an active participant in NADP events.
- Willing to undertake CPD and development opportunities.
- Participates and helps manage the annual conference.
- Gives a written report to the Board and/or NADP membership when representing NADP at attendance for external events.
