Role Description for Members of the NADP Board of Directors

  1. A Board member is elected for a term of three years and may be re-elected for 3 terms (or more at the discretion of the Chair).
  2. Regularly attends Board meetings (3 days per year: September, November and February).
  3. Prepares well for meetings and comments on minutes and reports.
  4. Gets to know other Board members and builds a working relationship
  5. Participates in the two-day annual strategic planning event in April.
  6. Makes a serious commitment to participate actively in the work of at least one sub-group of the Board.
  7. Volunteers for, and willingly accepts, assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
  8. Stays informed about disability sector matters.
  9. Is an active participant in NADP events.
  10. Willing to undertake CPD and development opportunities.
  11. Participates and helps manage the annual conference.
  12. Gives a written report to the Board and/or NADP membership when representing NADP at attendance for external events.
