Job Description

The conservatoire is seeking to recruit a Student Disability Adviser to contribute to the work of the disability support team, providing information, advice and guidance to disabled students and to the staff working with disabled students.

The Student Disability Adviser will be educated to degree level and will have relevant professional qualifications/training relating to disability. The candidate will have a background in disability support and experience of working with young people on a one to one basis. You will be a highly effective communicator with the ability to guide and support our students through any of the barriers to study and learning that they may face. You will have excellent knowledge of current disability legislation and experience of advising students on the Disabled Students’ Allowance application process.

The ability to empathise with and understand the needs of students with a diverse range of needs is essential, as is accurate record keeping and being able to work on your own initiative. You will work within Student Services under the guidance of the Disability Support Manager.
