The Disability Advisor will report to the Head of Disability and will assist in the development of an efficient, professional service to both staff and students. The post holder will be responsible for providing services to support disabled students, using a Key Worker approach to effectively manage a diverse student caseload, including many complex cases. Other responsibilities include working to embed non-discriminatory practices across the University through networking and provision of training. They will also be working with interfacing areas to ensure the University, in its widest context, is compliant with its duties under the Equality Act.
This is an exciting and dynamic role for someone who can respond to changes in the higher education sector and provide creative input and innovative solutions for a range of evolving challenges.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, providing at least one late evening per week (12-8).
