Specialist Support Tutor (Dyslexia/ SpLD)
£31,866, rising annually to £34,804. pro rata
Part Time, Permanent – Professional Ser
Following the successful implementation of our DSA-QAG registered Specialist 1-1 Study Skills Service, we are recruiting additional in-house Tutors to meet increasing demands for study skills support for Dyslexic/SpLD students. We will consider candidates available to work between 15 and 37 hours per week during semester time (30 weeks per year). The post holders will be based mainly at our Headington Campus with travel to all sites.

You will be:

Teaching a range of study skills and learning strategies to dyslexic/SpLD students
Actively and collaboratively working with colleagues including reviewing service provision and planning for improvement
Reading and interpreting diagnostic assessment reports
Promoting the use of assistive technology
Undertaking initial dyslexia/SpLD screening
Maintaining electronic systems and keeping accurate and auditable student records
Networking both within and outside the University, including to develop own knowledge promote equality, diversity and inclusion
Designing and delivering awareness training to academic staff and others as appropriate.
Specialist Support Tutor (Dyslexia/ SpLD) you should have:

A degree level qualification or equivalent
A certificate in Dyslexia/SpLD
Experience of delivering study skills tuition in post 16 sector
Demonstrable experience in the use of Assistive Technology and sound IT skills
The ability to carry out pre-assessment screening
Demonstrable commitment to equal opportunities
A flexible approach to working hours to meet fluctuating demands including early evenings and occasional w/e open days and registration sessions.
