Louise has worked in the HEI disability sector since 2002 in a variety of roles, as a Non-Medical Helper, Disability Adviser for students, then for staff and subsequently as manager of a disability service. Since 2020, she has been Head of the University of Manchester’s Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS) and their Assessment Centre (UMAC). She is an accredited member of NADP and a member of NNAC, AMOSSHE and UMHAN.
Around 8500 students and over 1000 staff have shared with the University that they have a disability, and DASS is focussed on providing nuanced and meaningful support and adjustment provision to people, as well as our other stakeholders, such as academic staff supporting students.
Louise feels passionately about inclusion and equity, and sits on a number of groups and committees which are focussed on EDI, flexible learning, hybrid working and assessment for the future.
