Jo Wilkie

Jo began as NADP administrator in September 2019. Jo spent the first half of her career working with children both privately and in nursery settings. She directly supported disabled children including those on the Autistic Spectrum; those with moderate learning difficulties; and those with Spina Bifida. She also supported many children who used English as an additional language.

Jo spent the second half of her career before NADP recruiting for staff to work with disabled students from Primary School to Further Education. She has been providing training courses for candidates who are interested in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Since joining NADP, Jo has undergone multiple training courses to further her knowledge of the disability sector. She began with TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) where she learnt about the signs, symptoms and diagnosis of SpLDs, the best practices relating to SpLDs, the legislation, guidance and support relevant to SpLDs and what it’s like living with an SpLD.

She then achieved TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems where she completed the following modules: Mental Health, Stress, Anxiety, Phobias, Depression, Postnatal Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Dementia, Eating Disorders, Attention deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Jo most recently completed TQUK Level 2 Award in the Prevention and Control of Infection (RQF) to ensure that she is kept up to date with the latest health and safety guidelines at work.
