Joanna spent the first half of her career in childcare, working with children both privately and in nursery settings. She directly supported disabled children including those on the Autistic Spectrum; those with moderate learning difficulties; and those with Spina Bifida. She also supported many children who used English as an additional language.
For the second half of her career, she has been recruiting for staff to work with disabled students from Primary School to Further Education. She has been providing training courses for candidates who are interested in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
She believes in doing everything she can to create an inclusive environment and knocking down the barriers that prevent anyone being able to access education.
